Facilities

The Gardner-Hawks Center and Borup Coliseum, first-class recreational facilities, serve as the home of Viking Athletics. The Gardner-Hawks Center, completed in 2003, includes the competition gym, practice gym, one-tenth mile walking track, batting cages and coaches’ offices. The newly remodeled Borup Coliseum houses locker rooms, a gymnasium, swimming pool, wrestling room, fully-equipped weight room and classrooms.

All Dana athletic facilities, except women's golf, are located on campus. All Dana College recreational facilities, including an outdoor track, tennis courts, outdoor basketball court and sand volleyball courts, are open to all students at no charge. The facilities are continously updated.

The Gardner-Hawks Center added 34,200 square feet to Dana’s existing athletic facility, Borup Coliseum. The center’s focal point is a new competition gym that seats 2,210 with an additional 814 overflow seats. The new gym is a state-of-the-art space with a sophisticated sound system, multiple ethernet connections for Internet use, a walking track and the ability to convert into three practice courts.

The Center includes much more, including the Cooperman Atrium, the main entry point for both the Gardner-Hawks Center and Borup Coliseum. It contains a new event admissions desk, concession stand, restrooms and the Legacy Wall, an artistic remembrance of the hundreds of people who gave to Dana’s Legacy Campaign to fund the facility.

The Gardner-Hawks Center has also added 15 offices, a laundry facility, a training room, a conference area, a multimedia classroom and storage rooms. During the construction process, the existing Borup Coliseum was renovated, updating and expanding locker rooms, offices and the wrestling practice room.

Take Hwy 75 North to Blair. Turn LEFT on to Washington Street. Turn RIGHT onto 19th Street. Turn LEFT onto Wright Street. Wright Street becomes College Drive. Continue on College Drive. Just past 28th Street, the Office of Admissions and visitors’ parking is on your right. The campus will be on your left.

Take Hwy 133 North to Hwy 30 East. Follow Hwy 30 East to downtown Blair to the intersection of Washington & 19th Streets. Proceed through the intersection on 19th Street (also Hwy 75 North) to Wright Street. Turn LEFT onto Wright Street. Wright Street becomes College Drive. Continue on College Drive. Just past 28th Street, the Office of Admissions and visitors’ parking is on your right. The campus will be on your left.

From the East (including Missouri Valley, Iowa)
Follow Hwy 30 West to Blair. Once in Blair, Hwy 30 becomes Washington Street. Proceed through downtown to 19th Street. Turn RIGHT onto 19th Street. Turn LEFT onto Wright Street. Wright Street becomes College Drive. Continue on College Drive. Just past 28th Street, the Office of Admissions and visitors’ parking is on your right. The campus will be on your left.

From the West (Norfolk area)
Take Hwy 275 South to Hwy 77 South to Hwy 30 East. Follow Hwy 30 East to downtown Blair to the intersection of Washington & 19th Streets. Take I-29 South to Exit 75/Hwy 30 West. Follow Hwy 30 to Blair. Once in Blair, Hwy 30 becomes Washington Street. Proceed through downtown to 19th Street. Turn RIGHT onto 19th Street. By Air
Daily flights arrive at and depart from Eppley Airfield, Omaha’s international airport. Dana College is located approximately 30 minutes north of it. Follow the airport exit signs to Hwy 75 North through Omaha. Continue on Hwy 75 to Blair. Turn LEFT on to Washington Street. Turn RIGHT onto 19th Street. Turn LEFT onto Wright Street. Wright Street becomes College Drive. Continue on College Drive. Just past 28th Street, the Office of Admissions and visitors’ parking is on your right. The campus will be on your left.
